The podcast, Into Thin Air was developed in-house at WJXT. This project delved into the case of HaLeigh Cummings, a 5-year-old girl who disappeared from her home without a trace in 2009. A decade later, the case is still unsolved. News4JAX reporter, Jennifer Waugh, works with local investigators to review the case files and explore what really could have happened to young HaLeigh Cummings.
For the Into Thin Air podcast we developed the graphics look for on-air elements, promotable elements, web ads, and graphics for the different podcast platforms. The graphics worked with the elements from the original investigation, including the photo of HaLeigh used by media and investigators. The billowing smoke that fades in and out of the imagery is a play on the on the title and reinforces the idea of vanishing out of thin air.
The podcast was introduced by an I-Team story the reviewed the case files and explained how the podcast would go even further into the case of HaLeigh Cummings. The elements covered for the Podcast include:
-Animated endtags, intro arts, and looping info screens. These elements were used with on air promotable elements and in the newscast coverage.
-Social and digital web ads for the I-Team promotable story and for the podcast itself. And banner ads for the Into Thin Air section of the News4JAX webpage.
-Set graphics- Vertical monitors, Cubewall, Curvewall and Monwall graphics for two studio sets.
-Full screen still images as teases, info full screens and branded stills. These full screen images provided information on where to download the podcast, info about coverage of the podcast and a call to action with the tip hotline for any information about HaLeigh Cummings or her case.
