This is the 2022 WJXT/WCWJ station reel and a collection of event show opens of community events, specials and even a town hall that took place in Jacksonville. These events occurred between 2018 and 2019. Each animation showcases different events, tones, moods and messages.
WJXT/WCWJ Station Reel
(2022)

The WJXT/WCWJ station reel showcases the work of the Art Department. Specials, opens, intro arts, news animations and promos. I designed and animated many of the projects included in the reel and completed the final overall edit of the reel, including effects and sound editing.
Jacksonville Auto Show
(2019)

Every February, the Jacksonville Auto Show takes place at the Prime Osborne Convention center in Downtown Jacksonville. WJXT provides live show coverage of the Auto Show the night before it begins. Highlighting the new cars, show specials, and events taking place that weekend at the Auto Show. For the Jacksonville Auto Show, I built the show open, show supers, show bumps and full screens. The open was built starting with a producer’s script. The open uses auto show highlight videos from car companies, stock footage, local captured drone footage of Jacksonville, and archive footage from the Prelinger Archives. The script uses VO and makes use of highlighted text and music to keep the open moving forward. The bumps, full screens, and supers make use of the WJXT specials look and include an area for a sponsor logo.
Bold City Bash
(2019)

The Bold City Bash was a working collaboration with the City of Jacksonville to highlight the weekend city-wide celebrations for the Florida Georgia game that takes place annually in Downtown Jacksonville. This open highlighted the party feel and displayed the organizations involved in the events opening out to the live view of Downtown Jacksonville.
Oh Say Can You Sing
(2019)

Oh Say Can You Sing is a city-wide singing competition hosted by WJXT to find a winner to sign the National Anthem for the WJXT July 4 Special – Red, White, and Boom. I worked from an established look and branded logo and built show elements for the special. These elements include- Show bug, Supers, Full Screens, Hall info screens, bumps, sponsored elements, show voting graphics and the show open. The in-show elements – Full screens, supers, show bug, and sponsored live voting graphics – were developed to match the established branding of the show and fit the new screen dimensions. The live show voting graphics are developed with Megaphone graphics and a designed on both the mobile platform and the on-air set up. The open is based off of music, naturally being a singing competition. The script for the open uses pull out facts about the show, contestants and judges, while showcasing footage of everyone involved, the show’s locations and areas around Jacksonville. And the final drive of the open, was shot using a GoPro attached to one of the station vehicles, headed through Downtown Jacksonville and stopping at 1904 Music Hall, where the competition takes place. I was able to ramp up that footage, stabilize the elements, and add the show logo and sponsor to the footage to add to the overall buzz and excitement of the show that everything opens up to, joining the hosts live in the 1904 Music Hall Stage area.
Town Hall – Generation Under Fire
(2018)

Generation Under Fire was a company-wide branded imitative that showcased the student’s, parent’s, and administration’s experiences after the events of the mass school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in February 2018. Covering stories locally and around the US, under this initiative WJXT looked to host an open Town Hall discussion with local students, administrators, and community leaders about topics being faced in this new reality.
